Easter is a great time to do some DIY with the bank holiday weekend giving many people four days off work. But with some retailers observing reduced hours to mark the occasion, Britons may not be able to shop in-store for household essentials. Here are the opening times for popular hardware chains including B&Q, Screwfix, and Wickes.
The Easter bank holiday weekend is the first extended break of the year, giving many Britons a chance to relax, see loved ones, and get stuck into some household DIY.
With the likes of Screwfix, Wickes, B&M and The Range all the top shops for essential supplies, shoppers should know that many hardware retailers will observe reduced trading hours from Good Friday to Easter Monday.
B&Q
Customers hoping to visit B&Q this weekend will be welcome during normal hours, between 7am and 8pm on April 7 (Good Friday). However, this excludes all stores in Jersey which be closed for the day.
On Saturday, April 9, normal opening hours will be observed across the UK between 7am and 8pm.

Wickes
Wickes customers will be unable to visit some stores over the bank holiday weekend due to closures. Shoppers in England and Wales can shop from 7am to 8pm on Friday, April 7, Saturday, April 8 and Monday, April 10, though stores will be shut for the entire day on Easter Sunday, April 9.
In Scotland, Wickes stores will remain open throughout the weekend, welcoming customers from 7am to 8pm on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8.
On Easter Sunday, shops open at a later time of 9am and shut earlier at 6pm, though normal hours (7am to 8pm) will resume on Monday, April 10.
Screwfix
Opening hours for Screwfix are similar to Wickes stores over the Easter weekend, with normal 7am to 8pm trade on Good Friday, April 7.
On Easter Saturday, April 8, shops open at 7am and shut from 6pm, with all UK and Ireland stores closed entirely on Easter Sunday.
Screwfix stores in Scotland will remain open from 9am to 4pm on Easter Sunday. From Monday, April 10, the retailer will operate its standard hours across the UK from 7am to 8pm.

In Scotland, however, stores will remain open on Easter Sunday – though some with reduced hours. Shoppers can find their local opening times using the store finder tool.
B&M
Normal trading hours will operate at B&M stores on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday across the UK.
While most shops open at 8am, closing times vary across locations – ranging from 6pm to 10pm. Shoppers are advised to check their local trading hours using the store finder tool.
All stores in England, Wales and Ireland will close on Easter Sunday, April 9, though Scotland sites will remain open as usual.
