Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh recycles her divine Jubilee jacket and she looks fabulous

For the engagement in Manchester, Sophie opted for the green jacket she wore at the Big Jubilee Lunch last year, the Linda Wool Blend Blazer from fashion brand Giuliva Heritage.

As part of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Sophie attended the Jubilee Lunch on The Long Walk in Windsor and was seen chatting with attendees.

Thousands of people congregated to have lunch picnics in Windsor to honour Queen Elizabeth with a total of 488 tables by the castle.

For the celebrations in Windsor, Sophie paired the jacket with Victoria Beckham white palazzo trousers but to visit The Hallé in Manchester this week, she opted for beige tailored trousers from Max Mara.

The Duchess finished her look with a pair of cream Gianvito Rossi pumps and a brown handbag, wore a beige top underneath her jacket and a pair of delicate gold hoop earrings.

Sophie looked absolutely fabulous and royal fans praised her style on social media. Twitter user Kathleen Kay commented: “Beautiful, dignified Sophie… The Duchess of Edinburgh!”

Another one named Marsha said: “Lovely pictures of the beautiful Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.”

Royal watcher Kate tweeted during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations: “Sophie always looks beautiful.”

Social media user and royal fan Sue Calvert commented: “Love seeing the outfits of the oh so pretty Sophie!”

Royals often opt for green clothing as the colour represents balance and peace. According to experts at Dopely Colors, green is a symbol of “happiness and peace”.

“Even if you do not wear green clothes and only use green accessories, you will convey this freshness and peace to others,” they explained.

In fact, Princess Kate has a very similar jacket. The royal owns the Textured Double-Breasted Blazer in green from Spanish brand Zara which used to retail for £59.

William and Kate filmed a video to wish the people of Ireland a happy St Patrick’s Day last year when she was seen donning the chic apple green jacket.

In the video, Kate sported a pair of gold hoop earrings and a gold necklace with a shamrock charm, both by British jewellery designer Daniella Draper.

It seemed Sophie channelled Kate’s style today as she also opted for gold jewellery and a necklace with a charm in the shape of a mini handbag, which could have a deeper symbolism.

The royal’s necklace was the Constance Amulette Rose Gold Pendant from Hermes and jewellery expert Claire Adler commented on the pendant saying: “There is something undeniably feminine and empowering about a handbag.

“Handbag pendants aren’t as common as one might think although there are a fair number of lovely vintage examples online.

“Interestingly, handbags have a long history of being linked to jewellery through the minaudière – a bejewelled evening handbag and a jewel all rolled into one – like those by Van Cleef & Arpels, the Parisian jewellery house worn by Kate to the Baftas.

“They are made with precious materials, like gold, enamel and precious gemstones, and appear really compact.”

The miniature pendant, which resembled the mini handbags Queen Elizabeth used to wear, could also be a nod to the late monarch, who was rarely seen without her Launer bag.
