“King Charles will wear the St Edward’s Crown, a sacred symbol of the authority of the monarch. It is solid gold and encrusted with over 400 gemstones, including rubies and sapphires.”
Mr Kormind also described other Coronation Regalia which will be featured in the ceremony.
He explained: “We will also have the chance to see the Coronation Spoon which is one of the oldest jewels in the crown’s collection, dating back to the 1100s, and will be used to anoint the Sovereign with Holy Oil from Jerusalem.
“King Charles will carry the Sovereign’s Sceptre with Cross which features the Cullinan diamond, the largest colourless cut diamond in the world which weighs 530.2 carats, and was discovered in 1905 in South Africa and named after Thomas Cullinan, the chairman of the Cullinan mine.
