Rolf Harris’ daughter’s book ‘explains behaviour’ of sex offender father | Books | Entertainment

Rolf Harris’ daughter, Bindi Nicholls, reportedly drafted pages for a book titled “Living With A Pervert” where she lifted the lid on living with her elderly sex-offender father.

Harris – who was confirmed dead today, Tuesday, May 23, 2023 – was convicted and jailed in 2014 for 12 counts of indecent assault (one of which was overturned) occurring between 1968 and 1986.

The former TV entertainer was in prison for five years and nine months, before eventually being released from HM Prison Stafford in May 2017.

In extracts of Nicholls’ book seen by The Daily Star on Sunday, Nicholls defended her father as he grew older.

The extract reportedly read: “He loves a flirt, which he does very openly, much to my embarrassment, but I have met many a man from my dad’s generation like that.”

Nicholls went on: “It’s harmless and you know it doesn’t lead anywhere. Dad loves to give compliments to women so they feel good, for no other reason!”

She added: “Yes he has had sex, yes he goes to the loo, he farts, he burps, he gets old, yes he has made mistakes, he is not great at communicating his feelings or putting important things into words, he is deeply shy and not great at intimacy. But he is a great entertainer, a genuine and loveable person with flaws.”

The 59-year-old reportedly included a line that stressed her dad was “no sexual predator, no murderer or kiddy fiddler”.

Nicholls also said: “Dad is from the age of Benny Hill, Carry On films. He is Australian – which was pretty male chauvinist in those days – that is the era he is from, so sometimes he says non-PC jokes.”

It is not yet clear if or when Nicholls plans to release the planned book.

Harris died aged 93 after it was confirmed in October that he was battling neck cancer. His death was confirmed by a Maidenhead Town Hall registrar today.

His family released a statement revealing he “died peacefully surrounded by family and friends and has now been laid to rest”.
