Spice Girls reunion confirmed as Victoria Beckham ‘signs up’ for comeback | Music | Entertainment

Spice Girls star Mel B has just revealed that the iconic British girl group are about to make a major comeback – and it’s going to be bigger than ever.

The Wannabe singers got back together in 2019 for a short-lived reunion tour, but only four members rejoined the adventure. Mel B was accompanied by Emma Bunton, Melanie C and Geri Halliwell.

At the time, Victoria Beckham said she would rather “concentrate on her family and her company” while citing her 45-year-old age as a factor for dodging the comeback.

But now, she has apparently signed on once again.

Mel B just told The Sun: “My theory is that if I say it enough, it will happen. But actually, we are planning on releasing a statement. What that is, I can’t say right now because we’re just finishing off perfecting what we’re going to be doing together, all five of us, but it’s going to be something that the fans are really going to love.”

If Mel B’s words are accurate, this will be the first time the five members of the band have worked together since 2013.

She wouldn’t go into details on whether the band are going to drop a new album or announce a new string of tour dates, but she added that the announcement should come “pretty soon”.

Scary Spice also stressed that the band have always had a great relationship away from the cameras and stages.

Mel B said Victoria didn’t “need convincing” in any way. “I mean she dressed me and my mum for when I got my MBE,” she noted. “So we’ve kind of always been in contact. It’s not like none of us are speaking together, we’ve all got a group WhatsApp, but it’s just about timing.”

The last time the band got together for some reunion shows was just a few years ago during the Spice World – 2019 Tour.

There, they sold out three nights at Wembley Stadium, becoming the highest-grossing tour of the year in the UK. It went on to win the 2019 Billboard Live Music Award for Top Boxscore.

Victoria previously praised the Spice Girls’ comeback, but stressed that she couldn’t commit to hitting the stage again.

“I had so much fun being in the Spice Girls,” she said. “But I think now with everything else I’ve got going on — with my fashion, and my beauty line, four children — I couldn’t commit to that.”

When the idea was brought up of a “Hologram Spice” (similar to ABBA Voyage’s hologram concerts), Victoria replied: “That’s a great idea. That is a good idea.” (Via People)
