Dog abandoned at infamous ‘dumping spot’ was too scared to move

The rescuer of an abandoned female puppy has revealed the heartbreaking story of how she saved the unwanted dog in a viral TikTok clip. Samantha Dix has been hailed as a hero after saving the visibly distressed puppy from a well-known dumping ground for unwanted pets.

The clip, which was posted from the TikTok account @StreetLifeToTheSweetLife, captures the moment Samantha finds the pup at the infamous location in Texas. The video has gone viral with more than 90,200 likes, leaving many moved by the discovery of the dog, who looks scared and shy as two good samaritans approach her.

“This scared girl stayed here for hours,” a message reads on the screen as the helper vigilantly approaches the pup while reassuring her that she doesn’t have to be scared.

The rescue efforts were recently documented in a viral clip, captioned: “Her little scared tail wag gutted me. Who hurt you, sweet girl.”

The video’s creator, Samantha, told Newsweek: “George and I were alerted to a scared small dog in [a place in] Houston that is well known as a dog dumping spot. We headed out with our traps to find the pup and, as we were searching the fence line, we spotted Jana cowered in the bush.”

Only after approaching the animal, did Dix and George realize that they would be able to coax the pup to safety without using their trap.

“I approached her slowly and realized I wouldn’t need my trap,” explained Dix. “I was able to get a slip leash on her to secure her and bring her home.

“She is now being fostered with the non-profit organization Lola’s Lucky Day here in Houston, Texas,” added Dix. “Plans have been made for her to travel to Wisconsin to find a forever home in August this year.”

More than 900 users commented on the viral clip, with the top comment attracting more than two thousands likes.

“How can people hurt these angels?????” wrote the viewer, which another commentator followed with: “The eyes. I’m broken-hearted.

“All I can think of is what exactly has this baby endured to be this terrified,” wrote one viewer.
