Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, appears to be ready for autumn as she was spotted wearing a coat and scar despite the temperature being as hot as 22.7C.
The royal was recently spotted wearing a usual accessory over the weekend, as was seen with an anti-stress patch developed by the brand NuCalm which claims you can “change your mental state with no drugs” with their products.
Meghan was seen wearing the unusual blue patch on her wrist after she was seen with her left sleeve cuff rolled up while wearing a thick coat, despite the warm summer weather in Montecito, California.
Meghan wore a beige wool coat by Max Mara worth £900 ($1,650) which appears to be one of the Duchess’ favourites as she has often been spotted wearing it since 2021.
She was also seen wearing a large blue and tan scarf wrapped around her neck repeatedly, and it appears to have been the Hermès ‘Rayures d’été’ Shaw sells which sells for £1000 ($1,270).
Meghan has shown to be a fan of the French fashion house Hermès in the past, as she was seen wearing a pair of Hermès Oran sandals earlier this year in May worth £570 ($725)
However, eagle-eyed royal fans also spotted the Hermès “Avalon” Blanket in the background of the Sussex’s home during the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan.
The six-part television series, which was released in December 2022, explores Meghan and Prince Harry’s relationship while they were dating, their relationship with the British media, and their reasoning for stepping back at senior members of the Royal Family.
In the trailer, a tearful Meghan can be seen with her hair tied up while the blanket, which is embedded with the letter ‘H’ is sitting behind her as she speaks to the camera.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the ‘Meghan Effect’ was in full force after the Netflix trailer dropped as searches for the “Hermès blanket” on Google increased by over 500 per cent while royal fans wishing to know the price of the blanket skyrocketed by 850 percent.
It has often been noticed that any fashion or brands Meghan is spotted with often are sold out, and a similar effect happens with her sister-in-law Princess Kate, showing both are worldwide fashion icons.
While Meghan can often be spotted wearing clothes from big fashion names such as Alexander McQueen and Gucci, the Duchess has also helped put smaller brands on the map as well through the ‘Meghan Effect.’
On her first public appearance with Harry in 2017, Meghan carried a handbag by the designer Strathberry, a small brand local to Edinburgh, Scotland, and led to the retailer becoming popular in America.
Guy Hundleby, the founder of Strathberry, said: “The exposure and the attention we received after that was incredible, we’re about to turn over £12m, which is up from £6m the year before … [Meghan] was a fantastic catalyst for growth.”
