Ghosts star Charlotte Ritchie’s forgotten Harry Potter movie role before fame | Films | Entertainment

After five seasons, the hit British sitcom Ghosts concludes with a Christmas Special on BBC One at 7:45pm tonight.

Charlotte Ritchie stars as Alison Cooper in the much-loved show, but did you know she was once in a Harry Potter movie?

Back in 2005, she had a cameo with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint in the fourth movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Just 14 at the time of filming, she was an uncredited extra playing Slytherin Girl III in the official clip below.

The scene in question was when the Death Eater Barty Crouch Jr was disguised as Mad Eye Moody, teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts.

In the clip, Moody introduces the fourth-year Hogwarts pupils to the three unforgivable curses by inflicting them on a spider.

Reflecting on her Harry Potter cameo earlier this year, Ritchie told The Independent: “I met someone on a set recently who must’ve quickly Googled me because they said, ‘I love your work in Harry Potter!’ And I was like, ‘Did you? Thank you very much!’”

Ritchie can also be seen on the big screen this Christmas in Wonka.

She plays Barbara in the film written by fellow Ghosts actor Simon Farnaby, who plays Julian the 1990s sexually deviant Tory MP ghost. He also has an acting role in the Warner Bros movie as a zookeeper called Basil

Additionally, Mathew Baynton, who plays the Regency poet ghost in the sitcom, portrays corrupt chocolatier Felix Ficklegruber in the film.
