Jarrett Allen shines with a 20-20 game, Cavs show heart in loss to Heat! #ClevelandPride 🏀🔥

With two meetings against the Miami Heat this season under his belt, Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen had only averaged 5.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. He hadn’t reached double digits in either category.

But everything changed in Cleveland’s 107-104 loss to Miami on Wednesday night. Allen had a standout performance, achieving his second 20-20 game of the season. He led the team with 25 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, along with three assists. Shooting an impressive 76.9% from the field and 83.3% from the free-throw line.

This was his first 20-20 game since December 27, when he had 24 points and 23 rebounds in a win against the Dallas Mavericks.

Stathead reveals that this is Allen’s fifth career 20-20 game, third as a Cavalier. He now shares the second most 20-20 games in franchise history with Andre Drummond and Elmore Smith, following Cliff Robinson with four in a Wine and Gold uniform.

After the game, Cleveland Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff praised Allen’s growth this season.

“He just continues to progress, continues to take steps, continues to be dominant, and just do whatever he thinks he can to help us win basketball games. He’s been a leader, he’s been consistent. He’s been dedicated to whatever it is that we’re trying to do. He’s been selfless with his body. He’s sacrificed a ton physically just to help this team win games.”

Next up, the Cavaliers will kick off a two-game road trip against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night at 8 p.m.
