Andrea Bocelli releases new song Festa as featured in John Lewis Christmas ad | Music | Entertainment

Following the announcement of the deluxe version of his A Family Christmas album, Andrea Bocelli has debuted another festive treat for his fans this morning following his Let It Snow cover with daughter Virginia.

The maestro’s new rock opera single Festa (meaning “celebration”) has been released today by Decca Records.

Penned by Italian duo Le Feste Antonacci for the 2023 John Lewis Christmas advert, the lyrics were written for and approved by the tenor himself.

The song highlights “the joy of old and new festive traditions” and “not only carries the joy and emotional power of the ad, but adds a twist to traditional music at Christmas.”

The track is also raising money for children’s charities including The Andrea Bocelli Foundation, the John Lewis Partnership’s Building Happier Futures Charity Partners – Action for Children, Home-Start UK and Who Cares? Scotland.”

Bocelli said of Festa featuring in the John Lewis Christmas advert about a mischievous Venus flytrap becoming a Christmas tree: “I am delighted to take part in this wonderful and unique tradition of Christmas storytelling. It is very special for me given the great support this will bring to both the John Lewis and Andrea Bocelli foundations. Joy to all of your worlds this Christmas!”

Decca will donate 10p for every Festa track download in the UK from today until April 30, 2024 to be split between the Children’s charities above.

Meanwhile, according to Coral, Bocelli’s odds have been slashed from 10-1 to 2-1 at his chances of scoring this year’s UK Christmas No 1 single.

Festa is out now and Andrea Bocelli’s A Family Christmas (Deluxe Edition) with his children Matteo Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli is out tomorrow.
