Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney leaves fans in tears of joy at intimate gig | Music | Entertainment

Having toured Australia and Mexico City, Sir Paul McCartney’s Got Back world tour has now arrived in Brazil for eight huge stadium shows across the country.

But ahead of those, The Beatles legend performed to just a few hundred lucky fans in Brasília’s Club do Choro last night.

The intimate gig marked the 81-year-old’s first appearance in Brazil in almost five years, with it being his smallest-ever show in the Southern Hemisphere.

Tickets sold out in just minutes for the mini concert which kicked off with A Hard Day’s Night, as captured in the official footage below.

For almost two hours, McCartney delivered 20 songs from across his career including Maybe I’m Amazed, Get Back, Let It Be, Hey Jude and Helter Skelter.

At one point Macca proudly sported a T-shirt with the word Liverpool printed on the front, which received just as many cheers as the songs themselves.

Fans fortunate enough to have bagged tickets were visibly emotional, with some holding back tears at the joy of being in attendance.

McCartney next performs tomorrow evening in Brasília’s Arena BRB Mané Garrincha, which has a slightly larger capacity than the last venue at 45,200.

The Beatles star will then perform in Belo Horizonte, São Paulo and Curitiba, before a final concert in Rio de Janeiro’s Maracanã Stadium on December 16.

Since his first and world record-breaking appearance at that venue in 1990, which was the largest paying stadium audience of 184,000 concertgoers, McCartney has sold over 1.5 million concert tickets and performed 27 shows across stadiums in Brazil.
