The Prince and Princess of Wales took to Instagram to share two photos of Prince Louis in honour of his fifth birthday.
The photos, released yesterday evening, were posted alongside the caption “Someone’s turning 5 tomorrow … A very happy birthday to Prince Louis.”
The first photo shows the little Prince sitting gleefully in a wheelbarrow filled with grass as his mum Kate, Princess of Wales, pushes him along, laughing.
The second photo is a close-up of the young royal displaying a cute cheesy grin.

But body language expert Judi James suggested that there is more to this photo than the simple smiles portray.
Judi said: “This looks like such a sweetly telling shot with some underlying hints of poignancy as Kate watches her youngest child begin to grow up and become increasingly independent.”
The expert noted the significance of Kate being in shot rather than behind the camera.
She commented: “One striking body language point is that Kate is in the birthday pose with her adored son Louis, when she has previously tended to be behind the camera in her children’s celebratory snaps, meaning George, Charlotte and Louis have always been reacting directly to her rather than any external prompting.
“Louis, though, is looking away and smiling rather than at the camera, which is in keeping with his signature levels of social confidence and playfulness.”
Prince Louis is a very amusing child who manages to have his family – and the nation – in hysterics rather frequently.
Over the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Louis was spotted holding his ears during the flypast at Trooping the Colour.
At the Platinum Pageant, he was seen pulling an array of silly faces and even using his hand to cover his mum’s mouth.

According to the expert, Kate pushing Louis in the wheelbarrow on his milestone birthday speaks to the Prince’s earliest days.
“Kate has chosen to lean into shot, pushing Louis in a wheelbarrow and although this is clearly part of a game they are both enjoying there are enough poignant echoes of the days when she was pushing him in a pram to suggest she might be quietly reluctant to see her third and possibly last child grow up too soon.”
Royal fans seemed to echo this sentiment, with many taking to Instagram to express their shock that little Louis is already five.
@tsaryves commented: “Five!!! Gosh … I’m getting old. Wasn’t he born like a month ago?”
@the_mountbatten_windsors added: “Our baby isn’t a baby anymore. Happy fifth birthday to our Prince Louis! The best not-so-little boy.”
