Boots to close 12 more stores by the end of 2023 – full list

The health and beauty retailer announced its plans to shut 300 stores earlier this year.

Eight Boots shops across the UK have already ceased trading, though hundreds more are yet to go before the end of 2023.

Closures are likely to continue into 2024 as the pharmacy giant set out a 12-month period to complete them.

It comes as part of the retailer’s plan to reduce its stores from 2,200 to 1,900, which bosses believe will help “consolidate the business”.

Express.co.uk has rounded up every store that will lock its doors for good in the next three months.

The retailer, which employs 56,000 people in the UK, has offered those affected opportunities to work in other stores.

It’s not the first time that Boots has executed mass closures either. In 2019, the pharmacy giant began closing more than 200 stores over an eighteen-month period, which saw roughly eight percent of Boots high street branches close.

Many of the stores shut because they were loss-making and two-thirds of them were within walking distance of each other.

Later in 2020, Boots announced that 48 opticians were closing with the loss of 4,000 jobs.
