Brendan Fraser gobsmacked Adam Sandler threatened to quit film for him | Films | Entertainment

Sandler continued: “He was like, ‘I don’t get it. I don’t see the caveman being in this movie.’ And I just said, ‘He can do other shit, man.’ I eventually went to his house, like four in the morning, woke him up. I said… ‘Just know Adam Sandler ain’t going to be in Airheads unless old Fraser is in it.’ So he changed his little tune.

The George of the Jungle star said in disbelief: “He flew out to Chicago to meet me!” It turns out Lehmann “sang a different tune” when they met about the role. Fraser’s Encino Man co-star Pauly Shore had also been in the way of his casting in Airheads.
