Darth Vader makes epic return to Star Wars with Hayden Christensen’s Anakin | Films | Entertainment

Having reprised both Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in last year’s Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen has returned to Star Wars once again.

Last week’s Ahsoka concluded with a sensational cliffhanger as the titular character woke up in the World Between Worlds.

There she came face to face with her old master Anakin, who we’ve only previously seen her interact with in the animated Clone Wars and Rebels TV shows.

As Ahsoka episode 5 started streaming on Disney+ today, it soon became clear that not all was as it seemed.

The general consensus now seems to be that that wasn’t Anakin’s Force ghost but something of Ahsoka’s memories.

Fans witnessed Anakin and Ahsoka clash lightsabers for the first time ever in live action, as he promised to complete her training.

We were also treated to a couple of flashbacks of sorts, including a young Ahsoka fighting with a short-haired Anakin in the Clone Wars.

The siege of Mandalore was also depicted alongside of a red-lightsaber-wielding proto-Darth Vader from Episode III, but it didn’t stop there.

We were also treated to a couple of flickers of Darth Vader himself marching to and from Ahsoka, a welcome return of the villain to Star Wars even if brief.

This follows on from Hayden wearing the famous black suit opposite Ewan McGregor for last year’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and hopefully isn’t the last we see of it.

Ahsoka is streaming now on Disney+.
