After Hugh Jackman killed off his superhero in 2017’s Logan, Ryan Reynolds’ hopes of a Wolverine and Deadpool team-up was as dead and buried as the character.
That was until last year when the Aussie star made the decision to reprise the role as what is expected to be a multiverse variant of the superhero in the upcoming Deadpool 3.
Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, the X-Men can now enter the MCU and this will be their first outing at Marvel Studios.
And now Reynolds himself has shared the first set photo of his Deadpool with Jackman’s Wolverine in an Instagram story captioned “Don’t blink”.
Incredibly, the latter star is for the first time wearing the comic book classic yellow and black suit.
After nine movies as Wolverine, fans were disappointed that Jackman never wore the classic yellow suit, possibly because it would have been considered too camp for the darker and grittier X-Men movies.
Nevertheless, the star is finally donning what was originally teased in an alternate ending to 2013’s The Wolverine solo movie.
Deadpool 3 hits cinemas on May 3, 2024.
