Eurovision 2023 finale to be shown at cinemas near you – here’s what you need to know | Music | Entertainment

2023’s Eurovision Song Contest is going to be a massive event for the UK, as it is the first time the country has hosted the international competition since 1998. Tickets for the live final taking place in Liverpool sold out in under 40 minutes, but superfans can still get out of the house to see the proceedings on the big screen. It has now been announced the Eurovision 2023 final is going to hit cinema screens, and tickets are out now.

Cinema chains such as Vue and Cineworld will be holding live four-hour screenings of the 2023 Eurovision song contest finale on Saturday, May 13, 2023.

These screenings will be held in some of the country’s biggest cities, including Birmingham, Brighton, Cardiff, Darlington, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Sheffield. And there is already talk of more screenings taking place around the country as well.

Tickets are on sale now, so you can grab yours from your local cinema chain – but act fast, they are sure to be in great demand.

BBC’s Eurovision Song Contest Managing Director, Martin Green CBE, said: “We’re thrilled to roll out Eurovision to more UK cities. So many people here are huge Eurovision fans and for those new to the Contest they will get to experience the joy of watching the Grand Final surrounded by thousands of others right there in their local city.”

Eurovision’s Minister, Stuart Andrew, said this is a way for Eurovision fans to get involved, no matter which part of the country they live in.

Andrew said: “Eurovision is a fantastic opportunity for us to come together through music and our big screens will create a party atmosphere where no one will sing alone. This competition is not just about Liverpool but making sure we celebrate what unites us and showcasing our steadfast support for Ukraine. We are bringing the Eurovision Song Contest to people’s doorsteps so we can all take part in this historic moment and enjoy the magic of Eurovision as one.”

The live Eurovision Song Contest finale will take place at Liverpool’s 11,000-capacity arena, the M&S Bank Arena.

The semi-finals are taking place earlier that week on May 9 and May 11.

This year, the UK is rallying behind Mae Muller, who is representing the country, after Sam Ryder’s spectacular second-place spot last year.
