Princess Eugenie has faced criticism over her latest style choice during an appearance in Davos, Switzerland.
The royal was joined by her sister Princess Beatrice as she hosted an event about the role of business and government in tackling modern slavery and human trafficking on the sidelines of the World Forum Economic Forum.
Eugenie, 33, and Beatrice, 35, appeared in high spirits as they made their first public appearance of the new year.
The princess, who co-founded The Anti-Slavery Collective in 2017, sat at a panel with former UK prime minister Theresa May, co-founder Julia de Boinville, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s John Schultz.
The discussion’s goal was to highlight the importance of elevating modern slavery to the highest levels of corporate board, corporate executive, and government leadership.
Eugenie said: “Guns and drugs can be only trafficked once but human beings are trafficked again and again and again. For them, it happens every day and minute.”
Although the sisters’ appearance was met with many notes of positivity, some fans took a dislike to Eugenie’s choice of dress.
For the event, Eugenie wore the Sirrenas wool coat by Marlene Birger in black (£510) and the Saloni Joy B short dress in Pavilion Garden print (£148). The royal accessorised the look with a pair of black chunky trainers.
Taking to X, some fans criticised Prince Andrew’s youngest daughter, with one even suggesting that she needs a “new stylist”.
Commenting on a new picture of the royal posted on @royalfashionpolice’s Instagram account, one fan wrote: “I didn’t know a black coat could be so unflattering”, while another one added: “She needs help… new stylist and new hairstyle”.
A third one said: “The shoes!!! Omg! Why?!”
But others seemed to like the princess’s look with one commenting: “Beautiful lady but dresses just like her mum”.
A second one added: “Contrary to many, I think the coat is very elegant, polished and versatile. Adore the wide cut. Every lady should have such a coat in her closet, my point of view of course. Instead I am not a fan of the dress , yet she pulls it off.”
A third one wrote: “Love both the coat and the dress. The shoes are surely due to weather conditions. She has a dazzling smile.”
