Make-up can do wonders for highlighting your natural features and sculpting your face, and a good mascara is a staple in many make-up bags.
While there are lots of mascaras and false lashes on the market, eyelash serums have also become a popular option to get better results.
These claim to promote the growth of your natural lashes within a short time period.
Experts at UKLASH explained: “Eyelash serums help to grow your natural lashes, making them longer and thicker after continued usage – it is a commitment, but worth it for beautiful, natural lashes.
“Upon application, eyelash serums absorb into the lash and brow follicles to help stimulate growth, reducing fall out and enhancing the thickness of hair by strengthening roots, and encouraging absorption of nutrients into the bloodstream for a healthier and fuller finish.
How does it work?
There are many serum options growing in popularity.
UKLash claims its product leaves lashes “up to 55 percent longer” and “75 percent more voluminous” within four to 12 weeks.
It contains Panthenol, peptides and biotin to “stimulate growth and volume”.
Biotin is “Biotin is well known for its positive effects on hair”, according to WebMD.
It added: “Research shows that biotin improves hair health — including shine, volume, and scalp coverage in women who experience thinning hair.”
Speaking of how eyelash serums work, UKLASH experts said: “Our eyelashes and brows go through a cycle of around three months (12 weeks).
“This includes a growth phase (Anagen), a transition phase (Catagen) and a resting phase (Telogen).
“During the growth stage, our cells divide quickly to create new hair growth, in the transition phase the hair stops growing and detaches itself from the body’s blood supply… to finally enter the final resting stage where the fully formed hairs stay rooted, whilst new hairs begin to grow underneath them. Then the whole process starts again.
“Eyelash serums like UKLASH work to reduce the fallout and encourage new growth during the growth phase, whilst strengthening and nourishing existing hairs during the resting phase.
“This is why Eyelash & Eyebrow serums are advised to be used once per day for eight to 12 weeks to achieve best results – the same amount of time as a full growth cycle.”
