Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 director issued stark warning to Marvel fans | Films | Entertainment

In May this year, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will hit cinemas, bringing this series of Marvel films to a resounding close. James Gunn is, once again, directing the picture, but he has just issued some advice to fans who were questioning him about the upcoming movie. And his words included recommendations on how to proceed over the next six weeks.

TorrentFreak and ComicBook.com reported that MVL Film Finance LLC had requested a subpoena from the United States government to gain “information regarding those who’ve used a specific Reddit account” connected with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania spoilers.

The company was reportedly looking for “all Identifying Information for any other user(s) responsible for posting, editing, and/or maintaining the content previously available on the Reddit Site, including, without limitation, any moderator of the MarvelStudioSpoilers subreddit involved in uploading content on or about January 20, 2023 to the Reddit Site comprising and/or related to the dialogue of then-unreleased motion picture Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.”

With this in mind, Gunn’s comments can also be deemed as a warning for fans to not spoil anything online, as Marvel may look to exact repercussions.

Earlier this month, Gunn also gave some information about what fans can expect in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

Gunn gave his fans on Instagram their first piece of information about the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 runtime earlier this month.

The director was asked: “Could you please tell us the runtime for GoGV3? Or at least confirm if it’s longer than 1&2? Thanks.” (sic)

He replied: “It’s longer than 1 & 2.” (sic)

This means a new record for the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be broken once it hits cinemas this Summer.

The original Guardians of the Galaxy hit cinemas in 2014 and boasted a runtime of two hours and two minutes – making it one of the longest Marvel movies at the time.

Its sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 arrived on the silver screen three years later in 2017, and had a whopping runtime of two hours 17 minutes.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney Plus had a tiny runtime, with around 42 minutes of content.

This means Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will become the longest Guardians movie in the series. However, it is still nowhere near the runtime of the longest Marvel movies, including Eternals and Avengers Endgame.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 hits cinemas on May 5, 2023.

Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special are all available to stream on Disney Plus now.
