In an interview with Total Film, Gunn revealed that Rocket Raccoon is going to be the third movie’s focus.

The vicious hero’s backstory has been touched upon briefly in the previous movies, noting that he was “pulled apart and put back together” so he could be the best fighter around.

Well, things are about to get a little deeper in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, to the point where the gun-toting fur ball is being billed as the series’ new protagonist.

Gunn told the publication: “The most important thing for me was Rocket’s story, and then, following that, everybody else.”
