How to prevent hair loss: ‘Natural’ solution ‘prevents hair loss’ by ‘strengthening’ locks

There are a plethora of solutions out there for tackling hair loss and promoting hair growth.

However, not all of them are effective and some of them cost hundreds of pounds for continuous treatment.

Rather than using pricey shampoos or haircare products to prevent hair loss, Britons can simply head to their local health and beauty store and pick up a bottle of jojoba oil.

Jojoba oil is often added to conditioners and other products to protect hair against dryness, breakage and split ends.

The natural oil has also been known to moisturise scalps and treat the common scalp condition, dandruff.

Some experts claim jojoba oil can prevent hair loss and promote healthy growth.

The reason jojoba oil is used for hair loss is because it moisturises hair follicles which prevents hair loss caused by dryness.

Hairstylist Sally-Kate Duboux told Byrdie that jojoba oil is rich in vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, B vitamins, vitamin E, copper, and zinc.

Ms Duboux said jojoba oil is a “natural cheerleader for strengthening our locks, promoting thickness and regrowth, and aiding in preventing hair loss”.

The natural oil also has antifungal and antibacterial properties and can help restore moisture on scalps.

So while it may seem oily, jojoba oil won’t cause scalps to produce more or less oil.

Surprisingly, jojoba oil will also dissolve dirt buildup on scalps which helps to nourish hair follicles.

Jojoba oil can be bought online and from local beauty and health stores for under £10.

Pure Golden Jojoba Oil Raw costs £3.79 from Amazon, Nature Spell Jojoba Oil For Hair & Skin costs £7.99 from Superdrug and Oleus Jojoba Oil costs £9 from Holland & Barrett.
