Infanta Sofia of Spain, 16, had her Confirmation today in Madrid, where she wore a jumpsuit that some fans found to be “inappropriate” for a church setting.
The £84 jumpsuit retails from the brand Cayro and is called the “Petunia Monkey” jumpsuit.
The “fuchsia double crepe jumpsuit” has a “crossed neckline with a front opening”, according to the description.
This “front opening” created a keyhole effect in Sofia’s jumpsuit and therefore left an open triangle in the material.
In addition to the jumpsuit, Sofia carried her mother’s clutch bag from the popular high-street shop Mango.

Royal fans took to social media to discuss Sofia’s style and were divided over the £84 jumpsuit.
Instagram user @teri_dost said: “Love the colour, but really hate the top of that jumpsuit… it just doesn’t fit Sofia.”
Another fan, @tashas_2000 added: “Great colour, she looks very pretty. But the cutout in the middle doesn’t really suit the event.”
Royal watcher @_no_name_required_ wrote: “Completely inappropriate for a confirmation. My church would not have let her in.”
One fan, @nabila_alfahimi commented: “Colour is so pretty but is it appropriate for a confirmation?”
However, other fans absolutely loved the 16-year-old’s outfit of choice and defended the £84 jumpsuit.
Instagram account @talesofthewales said: “She is looking very pretty.”
Another fan, @froso_sl added: “Seems they colour coordinated today… maybe pink is Sofia’s favourite colour! I love it on her.”
Social media user @vamiso3 commented: “Sofia fantastic, the colour feels great on her, such a sweet and beautiful girl.”
Her mother Queen Letizia and sister Princess Leonor also attended the Confirmation today to support Sofia.
Queen Letizia, 50, wore a BOSS “Ibiaska” blouse in pink which she has worn before, along with BOSS white culottes with a matching belt.
The Queen accessorised with a Furla “Metropolis” white leather shoulder bag and wore chic espadrilles.
Princess Leonor, 17, the heir to the Spanish throne, wore a “Rosary” flower dress from the brand Polín et moi.
The £78 dress is described as a “midi dress with a floral print in a cherry colour”.
The 17-year-old carried a new beige clutch bag from Zara for the occasion.
In addition, Leonor wore her mother’s blue espadrilles for her sister’s Confirmation.
