Johnny Cash sings Barbie Girl and Spice Girls in chillingly accurate AI video | Music | Entertainment

As Artificial Intelligence continues to develop and improve, so has the ability to virtually resurrect late celebrities to do work they never accomplished in real life.

One of the most popular versions of this is having a dead singer perform a song that was released after they died or that they would never likely cover.

Johnny Cash died some six years after Aqua’s Barbie Girl hit No 1 in the singles charts, but the gruff country singer probably would never have considered recording the pop song.

Nevertheless, YouTuber There I Ruined It has introduced us to “The Man in… Pink?”

In the AI audio footage, Cash’s vocals are adapted from the tune of Folsom Prison Blues, which he famously recorded at a concert inside a jail.

Amusingly, the AI starts the video saying: “Hello, I’m not Johnny Cash” before singing Barbie Girl to Folsom Prison Blues.

But it isn’t long before he then starts singing The Spice Girls’ Wannabe to the same tune and other very unlikely Cash covers.

Make of it what you will, but who knows where this technology will go next?
