It’s been seven years since Johnny Depp last starred as Captain Jack Sparrow in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
A sixth film was planned as a farewell to the character, which the Hollywood star was looking forward to.
However, Disney dropped the actor after domestic abuse claims by his ex-wife Amber Heard surfaced in 2018, which he strongly denied.
Now having won a libel case against her in the US, fans have been hopeful that the 60-year-old will make a return in Pirates of the Caribbean 6, which producer Jerry Bruckheimer said is something he’d “love” to happen.
In the meantime, fans have been taking their desire for more Jack Sparrow into their own hands, with one creating a concept trailer for a new Pirates movie called Beyond the Horizon.
The viral YouTube Video by KH Studio features an AI Jenna Ortega as Jack Sparrow’s daughter heading off on adventures with him.
Enthusiastic fans commented: “Impressive. The creator of this concept trailer is definitely very talented.
Another wrote: “This is a great trailer. Jenna being Jack’s daughter is a nice idea. I hope Disney finally smartens up and does whatever it takes to get Depp back to star in Pirates 6 because we really want this.”
