Kevin Costner shares exciting update about Horizon – but Yellowstone fans won’t be happy | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

With the infamous WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production on the third chapter was halted, but thankfully for Kevin the filming for the first two chapters was completed, with the second wrapping up production this summer.

Speaking to Deadline, the 68-year-old John Dutton star revealed: “I’ve mortgaged 10 acres on the water in Santa Barbara where I was going to build my last house … But I did it without a thought. It has thrown my accountant into a f**king conniption fit.

“But it’s my life, and I believe in the idea and the story,” the actor added of his project which he has been working on since 1988.

Horizon has also been making headlines for other reasons this year, due to its impact on Kevin’s other Western role, Yellowstone.

The Hollywood star was involved in a lengthy and messy split with the leading drama which reportedly came as a result of his focus shifting to his upcoming Horizon films.

The show’s team complained Kevin made himself less available for the series, while his team contradicted these claims and blamed Yellowstone script delays.

So for now Yellowstone fans will be forced to wait and see if Kevin will return to the series to finish telling John Dutton’s storyline when the show eventually returns for the second half of its highly anticipated fifth season.

But there is good news for Yellowstone fans, as while Paramount did confirm the remaining episodes will end the series, they will, in fact, pivot into launching a new Yellowstone universe title which has been rumoured to star Matthew McConaughey.

Yellowstone airs on Sundays on CBS and is available to stream on Peacock in the US.
