King Charles has interesting dinner party habit

Dinner parties can be pretty exhausting, what with mountains of food to get through and reams of people to socialise with.

Indeed, hours of eating and talking can make even the most extroverted people want to get into bed and go to sleep.

And while taking a mid-dinner party nap may not seem like an option for many of us, King Charles reportedly likes to take a catnap during social events.

In the book What a thing to say to the Queen by Thomas Blaike, published in 2015, the author shared a selection of royal anecdotes from the House of Windsor.

In one excerpt the author claimed that Charles likes to socially rejuvenate with a very funny method.

Thomas wrote back then: “The Prince of Wales often catnaps at dinner parties.”

According to the author he does it pretty expertly too, napping so discreetly that his friends don’t realise.

“Hostesses in the know continue talking and nobody notices. Even two minutes ‘out’ will refresh him completely,” he claimed.

But what does King Charles enjoy eating at his dinner parties when he’s not mid-snooze?

According to the author, the royal is not fond of chocolate, coffee, or garlic, while Prince William is a big fan of confectionary and caffeine.

King Charles isn’t the only royal who allegedly loves a quick nap, with his son taking after him in this interest.

In conversation with Eric Clapton at a gala dinner honouring a 30th anniversary fundraising campaign for London’s Air Ambulance Charity, Prince William said he can benefit from a good nap.

The artist reportedly asked William if he had time for many hobbies as second in line to the throne, according to HELLO!

He admitted: “With the children it’s quite hard to get the time off. Any free time I do get I sleep!”
