King Charles wishes to ‘welcome back’ Prince Harry as long as one firm rule is followed

King Charles may meet with his son Prince Harry soon in what would be their first private and personal meeting since the Duke released his memoir ‘Spare’ earlier this year.

It has been reported that a “well-placed source” told OK! Magazine that the meeting may take place on September 17 after the Invictus Games take place. This international sporting event was created by Harry for veterans wounded while serving in the military.

Both Harry and Meghan will travel to Germany next month for the Games, but it has been reported that Harry may meet with Charles alone in London while travelling back home to Califonia. Harry’s travel plans appear to coincide with Charles’s own schedule, as the King will be travelling back to London later his summer holiday at Balmoral Castle, Scotland.

The source said: “The King has a rescheduled official visit to France on September 20 so has a few days to spare in London to meet with his son. Staff are trying to fine-tune the details as we speak.”

However, it has also been reported that Charles has one request for Harry before they have any more meetings in the future, as it has been said that the King was hurt by some of Harry’s claims in Spare made at both him and Queen Camilla.

A insider source has told OK!: “The King loves his son very much but he has been mortally wounded by what he has done. He will always be there for him but draws the line at public slanging matches.

“If the talks take place, the King will make it very clear that there will be absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward.”

In Spare, Harry wrote that Camilla leaked stories about him to the media in order to improve her public image. Harry described the Queen as “sacrificing him” in order to bolster her reputation.

Harry wrote: “I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar.”

Camilla’s friend Fiona Petty-Fitzmaurice, Marchioness of Lansdowne, told The Sunday Times that the Queen was affected by the remarks.

Lady Lansdowne said: “Of course, it bothers her, of course, it hurts. But she doesn’t let it get to her. Her philosophy is always, ‘Don’t make a thing of it and it will settle down – least said, soonest mended.’”

If both Harry and Charles meet, it would be the first time the pair are face-to-face since the King’s Coronation in May. It has also been reported that despite the accusations in Spare, Charles still wishes to reunite with Harry.

During a recent episode of the Daily Express Royal Round Up, royal correspondent Richard Palmer said he was certain the King would wish to welcome both Harry and Meghan into the Royal Family.

Mr Palmer said: “I’m sure the King would welcome them back. I mean, he’s quite keen to heal that family rift. But, it’s obviously very raw at the moment and it’s very noticeable.
