Lizzo breaks silence after holding back tears at Melbourne Special Tour concert | Music | Entertainment

Lizzo continues her mammoth Special Tour with dates across Australia this month and the set of concerts haven’t been without a few difficulties.

Last night the 35-year-old star performed for a second sold-out night in a role at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.

During the show the rapper was forced to perform her hit Truth Hurts without a spotlight after it went out.

According to the Herald Sun, she asked: “Can the lights come back on? Did we pay the light bill, b**ch”

In the end, she overcame the technical difficulty by performing in relative darkness and asking fans to “use your imagination”, yet there was another very emotional moment.

One fan captures a moment during the concert where Lizzo was beginning to tear up and looked like she might not be able to go on.

The footage was captioned: “Seeing @lizzo in Melbourne hold back tears after seeing Special shows how much of a genuine and real performer she is.

“An absolute superstar who’ll be round for a long time. #Lizzo #Melbourne #SpecialTour.”

And now the star herself has broken her silence on what made her so emotional.

Lizzo retweeted the footage and commented: “I had a rough day… and y’all really made me feel loved. Thank you.”

Fans poured out their support in response with one tweeting: “You are loved. And you’re a trailblazer, that is why this journey is so hard! Keep grinding. You’ve got this!”

Lizzo’s The Special Tour continues in Byron Bay on July 21, 2023.
