Marvel delays 4 movies as Captain America 4 ‘poor test screening’ means reshoots | Films | Entertainment

As the Hollywood strike comes to an end, studios are getting back to work and announcing some inevitable release date delays.

Disney’s Marvel Studios will be moving back four of their next five MCU movies.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool 3, which is 50 per cent through filming, has moved from May 3, 2024 to July 26, 2024.

Incredibly it will now be the only MCU movie to hit cinemas in 2024, as Disney focuses on streaming following a couple of years of disappointing box office.

Meanwhile, three other MCU movies are now set to release in 2025 with the Fantastic Four reboot, which is set to debut on May 2, 2025.

Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford’s Captain America: Brave New World has moved back from July 26, 2024 all the way to February 14, 2025.

According to scooper Jeff Sneider, Captain America 4 is being delayed after it “didn’t do great in a test screening”.

Reportedly three sequences are being cut with reshoots planned from January until early summer. 

Meanwhile, the Florence Pugh-led Thunderbolts has moved back from December 20, 2024 to July 25, 2025.

Additionally, Mahershala Ali’s Blade has been delayed from February 14, 2025 to November 7, 2025.

The latest MCU movie, The Marvels is released in cinemas today, while the final episode of Loki season 2 is streaming on Disney+ now.
