Meghan Markle linked to new Hollywood agent while she was still a working royal

The Duchess of Sussex recently signed a deal with Endeavour agency WME, founded by Ari Emanuel, who will represent the her on upcoming business ventures. But how long the Duchess has been linked to the mega agent remains unclear.

Pictures from old blog posts show Meghan was no stranger to the fashion brand Staud, founded by Emanuel’s wife Sarah Staudinger, who created garments worn by the Duchess when she was a working royal.

During a Royal outing in September 2019, Meghan accompanied Harry to celebrate Heritage Day in the Bo Kaap area of South Africa to learn about the local culture, wearing an elegant olive shirt dress designed by the brand.

The Duchess recently wore another pink suit also designed by Staudinger in her most recent public appearance in Los Angeles for a basketball match.

It is rumoured that Meghan will make millions off the new deal, which was announced last week but has been in the pipeline for the past few months.

Insiders claim the deal will focus less on advancing Meghan’s career as an actress and more on her business ventures, including brand partnerships, endorsements, and roles in film and TV production.

The agency will aim to create projects for Meghan to produce in a bid to make her a “power player” in Hollywood, sources told Page Six.

The insiders also told the publication: “The deal is about making Meghan a power player in Hollywood.

“Even though she is, of course, an actress, this isn’t about movies or shows for Meghan to star in. It is about creating projects for her to produce. She wants to run the show.”

Emanuel, best known for founding the multi-billion dollar agency in 1995, has a reputation for aggressive dealmaking which has made him one of Hollywood’s more reputable agents and the subject behind the character Ari Gold in Entourage.

According to reports in Variety, several agencies had expressed interest in representing Meghan in her future media endeavors, but she opted for WME because they were best suited to her goals.

The Endeavour agency announced the deal on Twitter, saying: “We are honoured to announce that WME now represents Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex in all areas.”

It is understood that Meghan will work closely with agent Jill Smoller, who represents Serena Williams, and James Slater, representative of Dwayne Johnson.
