Meghan Markle’s subtle hair change reflects her ‘casual’ life – claim

Meghan Markle is known for her trademark style, particularly since marrying into the British Royal Family.

Her elegant wardrobe may be what stands out most about the 42-year-old, particularly her chic black outfits, but Meghan’s accessories are another notable asset of her iconic look.

Of course bags, earrings, royal jewels and shoes are the first thing that comes to mind, but a permanent accessory styled by the mother of two is her glossy brunette hair.

Over the years she has been seen wearing it in loose waves and various updos, the latter of which is significant in her royal journey, according to a style expert.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Vendula London style expert Raymond Lam said: “Since relocating to the US, Meghan’s style has transitioned to more bold colours, relaxed fits and outfits that reflect the warmer weather of Los Angeles.

“She also dresses much more casually during public engagements, as she no longer has to adhere to the unspoken royal protocols around what she can wear.

“Some of the other things that Meghan has been spotted wearing a lot more of now include denim, shorts, athleisure and minidresses, as well as having her hair down frequently.

“This is likely as she is no longer a working royal, and lives a more casual lifestyle now.”

The evolution of Meghan’s style, in particular her hair, is clear to see from the moment she announced her engagement to Prince Harry, right up to her most recent outings.

Soon after her official induction into royal life, the former Suits actress traded her effortless locks for more purposeful looks. The nonchalant messy bun quickly became a style signature, as did smart, sleek do’s.

According to Vogue, the Duchess of Sussex enlisted the help of celebrity stylist George Northwood to pull off the polished looks that she added to her repertoire for formal engagements.

Many of which saw Meghan with not one hair out of place, donning slick-back strands to emphasise her sharp bone structure.

Since leaving the UK to return to California, however, the mother-of-two has reverted back to wearing her brunette locks more loosely.

On several occasions, Meghan has been seen wearing them in her signature undone waves with a deep side, or middle parting.

The royal influence on her style hasn’t completely worn off though. The Duchess has also been spotted donning her trademark chignon bun for some events.
