Michael Keaton returns as Batman after 30 years in new The Flash footage | Films | Entertainment

It’s been over 30 years since Michael Keaton starred in his second outing as Bruce Wayne in 1992’s Batman Returns.

Now Tim Burton’s Dark Knight is back in The Flash, in a story that sees Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen cross the DC multiverse.

The upcoming blockbuster features Ben Affleck’s Batman from the same Justice League universe as The Flash too, but it looks like the speedster ends up in another reality with a variant of himself and this older Caped Crusader.

Warner Bros has released new footage of Keaton’s return with both Barrys exploring the Batcave and being amazed by both the Burton Batmobile and Batplane.

And then suddenly Keaton’s Batman walks into the shot wearing his iconic superhero costume.

Keaton’s Batman tells them both: “I’ll help you get this Superman and then you’re on your own. Yeah, I’m Batman.”

As a result one of the Barrys faints at the sight of the superhero and the other just looks on with a grin.

Of course, the trailers have revealed that there is no Man of Steel in this universe, but instead a Supergirl.

The new movie’s synopsis reads: “Barry Allen/The Flash travels back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, which traps him in an alternate reality without metahumans.

“He enlists the help of his younger self, an older Batman and the Kryptonian castaway Supergirl in order to save this world from the restored General Zod and return to his universe.”

The Flash hits cinemas on June 16, 2023.
