Next James Bond hopeful Tom Hiddleston dodges 007 casting question | Films | Entertainment

No Time To Die hit cinemas in 2021 and brought Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond to a definitive end.

Since his exit, fans have been yearning for information on who will be taking over from him – but nothing official has been said just yet. And no real news will likely come for another few months or so.

With that said, the ever-changing Bond odds have been the best barometer on working out who is up for the role.

And the Marvel and Loki star Tom Hiddleston has long been near the top of the list.

But when he was recently asked about taking on the role, he was quick to dodge the question entirely.

Hiddleston has been one of the favourite choices as the next 007 star because of his slender physique, good looks, and inherent Britishness.

On top of that, he has already proven with his performance as Loki that he can take on an array of acting styles.

But when he was asked about whether he would take on the role of Bond, James Bond, at the recent Tennis Championship at Belsize Park in London, he laughed off the claims.

Dodging the question entirely, he told The Mirror reporter: “Have a good championship,” before moving on.

Just before that, Hiddleston was happily chatting about the sport.

“I love playing tennis,” he confessed. “But it would be elevating myself beyond my abilities to think I could play here – I just love watching. I play around my local clubs and really enjoy it.”

At the time of writing, Hiddleston has a meagre yet stable 40/1 odds on becoming the new and improved 007 from Ladbrokes.

Hiddleston has dipped behind in the Bond odds in recent weeks, but he isn’t out just yet.

However, he has some strong competition. At the top of the list is Aaron Taylor-Johnson with a staggering 7/4 on claiming the role.

Just behind him is the wonderful Henry Cavill with 3/1 on claiming the role he once lost.
