Next James Bond odds new frontrunner pushes Aaron Taylor-Johnson into second | Films | Entertainment

For the last few weeks, Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been the bookies’ favourite to be the next James Bond.

This was after the 33-year-old was rumoured to have had a secret audition that impressed Barbara Broccoli.

Nevertheless, his odds of 5-2 have now been leapfrogged but another favourite who has become the new frontrunner.

The star in question was spotted at the Wimbledon Gentleman’s Singles Final yesterday afternoon.

And he was sitting in the Royal Box having a chat with none other than Daniel Craig himself.

Happy Valley’s James Norton is now the 9-4 favourite to be cast as the next Bond.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s advantage James Norton in the Bond betting; having spent the afternoon with the current 007, the odds suggest the pair were talking more than just tennis.”

Take it all with a pinch of salt, but the 37-year-old has been in the mix with the bookies for the past few years, especially after sporting a tuxedo in the opening casino scene of McMafia.

As it stands behind Norton’s 9-4 and Taylor Johnson’s 5-2 is Black Mirror star Paapa Essiedu on 7-2.

Also in the mix are Henry Cavill on 4-1, Regé-Jean Page on 5-1 and Tom Hardy on 7-1.

Given the joint Hollywood actors and writers strike though, it could be a while before EON Productions announce their new Bond.
