Next James Bond odds slashed on favourite to replace Daniel Craig as 007 | Films | Entertainment

Could 2024 finally be the year that a new James Bond star is announced?

Daniel Craig bowed out as 007 in autumn 2021 after shooting No Time To Die all the way back in 2019.

Speculation is rife over his replacement, the first new Bond since 2005, with a recent shake-up in the bookies’ race announced this weekend.

Take it all with a pinch of salt, but odds frontrunner Aaron Taylor-Johnson has had his chances slashed from 2-1 to 6-4 at Coral.

The 33-year-old is set to star in Marvel action blockbuster Kraven the Hunter this year and has been rumoured to have had talks to take on 007 next.

Coral’s John Hill said: “The support behind Aaron Taylor-Johnson in our betting continues, as the British actor is now just 6-4 for the role. Jack Lowden is the other name that is proving popular in the betting to replace Daniel Craig. His odds have been trimmed into 8-1 from 12-1 in the last 24 hours.”

The 33-year-old currently stars in Apple TV+ spy thriller Slow Horses opposite Gary Oldman. Check out this week’s full next Bond odds below.

6-4 Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 7-2 Henry Cavill, 4-1 James Norton, 5-1 Rege-Jean Page, 7-1 Tom Hardy, 8-1 Jack Lowden, 12-1 Paapa Essiedu, 14-1 Callum Turner, 16-1 Richard Madden, 16-1 Sope Dirisu, 18-1 Aidan Turner
