It’s been over two years since Daniel Craig bowed out of the James Bond film franchise with No Time To Die.
Since then we’ve had the 60th anniversary celebrations and in just four days the first non-scripted James Bond TV series will begin streaming on Prime.
Express.co.uk caught the premiere of 007: Road to a Million, which feels like a high-budget Who Wants To Be A Million? filmed like a documentary around the world.
In attendance were host Brian Cox and EON Productions Bond movie producers Barbara Broccoli and Gregg Wilson.
The latter, who Express.co.uk spoke with, is the son of producer Michael G Wilson who many expect will one day be running the whole show.
During our conversation on his involvement in 007: Road to a Million (which you can read in full here), we asked Gregg where EON Productions were at with the next Bond.
He told us: “No plans on making the next Bond at this stage. There will be another Bond someday, but we’re not actively developing it.”
His Aunt Barbara made similar comments to Variety recently, saying: “It’s gonna take a while for us to get — you know, it’s a whole new reinvention. So it’ll take some time.” Nevertheless, we have a timeframe prediction.
There was a gap of four years between the releases of Pierce Brosnan’s Die Another Day (2002) and Daniel Craig’s Casino Royale (2006).
The latter film and star were announced in late 2005, so our best bet for a new 007 star and Bond 26 title would be in about a year’s time; late 2024.
That would hopefully mean we’ll be back in cinemas seeing a new Bond movie in late 2025.
