Next James Bond – UK’s Top 10 to be new 007 unveiled with Tom Hardy in second | Films | Entertainment

It’ll soon have been two years since Daniel Craig exited the James Bond franchise so explosively in No Time To Die.

Even before he announced his fifth and final 007 movies, speculation was rife over who his successor would be from Tom Hardy to Idris Elba.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, star of Kick-Ass and Bullet Train, leads the bookies’ favourites with odds of 9-4 but he’s way down the pecking order of who UK fans want to be the next Bond.

In new research, Sporting Post has taken the biggest names associated with next 007 speculation and looked at their UK search demand via Google.

It turns out that the actor who ranks first in people searching for his name attributed to Bond came second to Craig in the Casino Royale auditions back in 2005.

The man in question on the top spot is Superman star Henry Cavill, who is second to Taylor-Johnson on 7-2 at the bookies.

Having almost been cast as Bond last time around, he’s certainly a fan favourite. Although given the other spy franchises he’s been involved in since like Mission Impossible, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and the upcoming Argylle – plus the fact he’s just turned 40 – may mean he’s missed the boat.

Nevertheless, the British public would still love to see him take up the Licence to Kill, as they would the other members of the Top 10.

Just behind Cavill is Tom Hardy, followed by Idris Elba, James Norton and Luke Evans.

Further back are Regé-Jean Page, Richard Madden, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Cillian Murphy and Aidan Turner.

Hopefully, it won’t be much longer before there’s an official announcement from EON Productions.
