One Piece manga free – First 108 chapters available to read digitally | Books | Entertainment

Yesterday the long-awaited live-action adaptation of the world’s best-selling comic by volume landed on Netflix.

One Piece, a swashbuckling fantasy about a young man’s quest to find a legendary treasure and become King of the Pirates, has been going as a Japanese manga since 1997.

With over 1090 chapters to date, author Eiichiro Oda is finally approaching the story’s final saga when protagonist Monkey D Luffy is expected to find the One Piece treasure, which remains a mystery to fans 26 years on.

Now in celebration of the Netflix series’ debut, Viz.com is offering One Piece’s first 108 chapters to read digitally on its Shonen Jump app for a limited time.

That’s the first 12 volumes of the ongoing manga that goes around seven chapters on from where the live-action show gets up to – the entrance to the Grand Line.

Meanwhile, the latest chapters 1088-90 are available to read for free in English as the newest 3 chapters of other on-going series.

That’s well beyond where the published book volumes have got up to with the most recent, Vol 103, reaching chapter 1046.

If fans want to continue reading One Piece beyond the first 108 chapters they’ll have to subscribe to Shonen Jump.

Subscription to Shonen Jump costs $2.99 a month after a seven-day free trial.

This gives access to a digital vault of over 15,000 manga chapters across titles and users are limited to unlocking up to 100 chapters every day.
