Oscars 2024 nominations – Oppenheimer and Barbie dominate but huge snubs | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

The 96th Oscars nominations are being revealed – and there a some huge shocks.

The 2024 Academy Awards are taking place in a new earlier time slot this year, starting at 7pm Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, March 10 in Los Angeles, which means UK viewers will have to stay up until midnight.

Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel is back to host for the fourth time at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.

It’s being predicted that Oppenheimer and Barbie will be the big winners on the night, just like they were at the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards, and they certianly cleaned up in the nominations.

They will do battle with The Holdovers, Maestro, Poor Things and Killers of the Flower Moon in most of the major categories.

But there were some major snubs, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie not making the cut in the Best Actor and Best Actress noms.

Here is a look at the nominations, which were announced by Deadpool star Zazie Beetz and The Boys actor Jack Quaid on Tuesday afternoon.
