Prince George, Charlotte and Louis will never hear word ‘kids’ at home

In addition to being active parents to their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, the Prince and Princess of Wales also have a Norland nanny on hand.

In 2014, Prince William and Princess Kate hired Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo from Bath’s esteemed Norland College.

She joined the family when Prince George was about eight months old, and she has remained with them ever since.

Norland nannies must adhere to very tight restrictions about the language they can use in front of the children they watch over.

For instance, there is a word that is said to be forbidden at the Waleses’ residence Adelaide Cottage, and that word is “kids”.

Fellow Norland nanny Louise Heren, who wrote “Nanny in a Book”, shared how Norland nannies care for their employer’s children.

This includes the language they are trained to avoid with youngsters. Norland College is renowned for its superb childcare courses.

After a year of study at the famous institution, Louise claims nannies are instructed never to utter the word “kids” while working with children.

Although it’s surprising to learn that such a commonplace term is forbidden, Louise outlined the justification for the restriction.

Louise told The Mirror: “The word kid is banned. It’s a mark of respect for the children as individuals.”

As this rule is a Norland College policy, it is very probable that Princess Kate’s nanny Maria will follow it with the royal children as well.

It has also been reported that shouting is forbidden in the Prince and Princess of Wales’s home.

Maria is a graduate of Bath’s esteemed Norland College, which was established in 1892 by educational trailblazer Emily Ward.
