Prince George’s best friend is a child but Princess Charlotte’s is much older royal

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis appear to be very close to each other, sharing experiences very few children in the world ever will.

They also have their peers at Lambrook School, who they can learn and play with, getting a small taste of non-royal life.

But who are Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s closest friends in the royal family?

Body language expert Express.co.uk spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about who Prince George and Princess Charlotte are closest to in the Royal Family.

According to the expert, George’s best friend is another royal child, while Charlotte’s is an adult.

According to Judi, George has one friend in the family who makes things lighthearted despite his royal role and destiny.

“As heir to the throne George is under the most pressure of all the Queen’s great-grandchildren to learn and perform the etiquette and protocol of public royal events and with his parents and even his sister Charlotte on hand to provide coaching and the odd nudge he is quickly growing into his role.

“There is one royal though who seems able to ensure the fun-factor is still present and that he is enjoying himself as he learns to cope.”

Savannah Phillips, granddaughter of Princess Anne, is the oldest of her generation of royal children at 12 years old.

According to the expert Savannah “always looks super-popular, confident and playful” and George appears to gravitate towards her.

Indeed, Judi claimed he has a “certain amount of hero-worship” for her, never failing to grin in her presence, whether it’s on the royal balcony or the Platinum Pageant.

One refreshing thing about Savannah is that she “has no sense of royal hierarchy when it comes to George”, once pictured “pushing the future King down a grassy hill”.

Judi also spoke to Express.co.uk about Princess Charlotte’s closest royal friend, and according to the expert it is not another child.

She claimed: “As Charlotte gets older there are some clear signs of not just mother-daughter bonding with Kate but also  friendship signals, too.

“It’s not unusual for a mother and her daughter to describe themselves as friends or even enjoy being ‘best friends’ but where Kate and Charlotte are concerned that specific bond might be more necessary than it is for others as being a top-tier royal can be an isolating experience and we all saw how much the late Queen always cherished the unique equality of her mother-daughter bond with Princess Anne.”

Of course, with Charlotte only being eight years old, Kate is more a “mentor” than pal, but the little Princess is already mirroring her mummy when it comes to “keeping her brothers in check”.

This “hints that Charlotte will become a source of companionship and support for Kate in the Firm” as she gets older.
One instance where the pair did look like friends already, however, was during the Platinum Pageant when the pair were spotted chatting and “enjoying the event equally and probably more because they were there together”.

According to Judi, Princess Charlotte is also very close friends with another much older royal – they have a “special affection” for each other.
