Princess Beatrice debuts unusual outfit for book event – and fans ‘love’ it

Princess Beatrice attended the event at The Ivy, London, wearing a navy blue ensemble consisting of a midi dress and blouse. While it is not a common co-ord worn by the most stylish members of the Royal Family, the fashion-forward Princess pulled it off. And fans were quick to compliment her on the new look.

The mother of one flattered her slim figure with the Hill House Ellie Nap Dress in Navy Glitter for $150 (£119).

Sporting the smart square neckline and elegant ruffle straps, Beatrice debuted the summery dress for the first time.

For a more weather-appropriate look, the Princess of York layered the piece with a wardrobe staple from the popular high-street brand, Zara.

Beatrice styled their navy silk blouse with a contrasting white collar underneath the midi dress.

But while the bulk of her outfit was much more low-key than her £695 Coronation dress, the royal still exuded luxury with her accessories.

In keeping with the blue theme, Beatrice stepped out in her Carvela Lacey Court Shoes in Navy Satin.

The stiletto heel and jewelled toe were subtle details that added to Beatrices’ outfit, making them a staple item for the royal’s daytime engagements.

To complete the look, the 34-year-old clutched a black Yves Saint Laurent leather bag, specifically the Sac de Jour Nano style.

As a royal patron, Princess Beatrice attended the event to present the winner of the annual Oscar Book Prize.

The joyous occasion saw the royal opt for a pared-back makeup look while she wore her hair loosely swept back in a half-up style.

Looking happy and confident in her tonal outfit, Beatrice attracted the attention of royal fans on social media.

Many commented on her unique style, writing: “Oddly, I really love this and feel it suits Beatrice.”

Speaking about her blouse and dress co-ord, another commented: “It surprisingly works!”.

Often spotted in stylish pieces, including many designer dresses, the mother-of-one was also praised for her general fashion sense.

Sharing their thoughts on Instagram, one user said: “Bea really has great taste in fashion. I like her so much.”

To which another agreed: “I agree with the above poster. Nap dress and blouse say what? The combo really works and suits Bea’s style. The styling makes the outfit more modern.”

And it’s not just her wardrobe that has gained attention from the public.

The Princess of York’s weight loss journey saw the young royal transform her figure after completing the London Marathon in 2010.

Since then, she has worked hard to maintain her trim figure, though remains upfront about battling with her body shape in her late teens and early twenties.

According to her fitness trainers, the busy mum achieves her look by drinking plenty of water, eating fruits and vegetables, and exercising regularly.
