Kate, Princess of Wales and Prince William have been married for a little over a decade, their royal wedding on April 29, 2011, touching hearts all over the world.
Throughout their marriage – and even beforehand when they were dating – their love story has been under the microscope.
Constantly together at royal engagements, royal fans can occasionally catch a glimpse into their romance, particularly when special moments are captured on camera.
Indeed, there was a “sizzling display” of love between the royal duo just a few months after their wedding during their North American tour in July 2011, when the pair took part in a ceramics class.
According to body language expert Judi James, William “produced one of his naughtiest, sexiest smiles ever” as he tied Kate’s apron.
“Kate’s gesture then entails looking up or across at her husband at close quarters, often when he is speaking, and flashing this perfect, Duchenne smile at him.
“This gesture looks like more than just a glance of adoration and flattery. Her smile will often border on a grin that hints at shared humour or a shared joke and he always seems to find this gesture of confidence disarming.”
Judi suggested that it’s not just Kate’s gesture which tells royal fans about the relationship, but William’s somewhat shy reaction even after all these years.
She claimed: “When Kate flashes her confidence, William will nearly always respond with a more submissive, compliant and even bashful pose and facial expression.
“As a fun ritual it still puts Kate in the more superior role while William shows enjoyment in the way that, despite the fact he is a high status King in waiting, his beautiful and confident wife can still suggest she’s sometimes the parent in the relationship.
“His head will often drop coyly and he will perform a bashful, puckered smile while his hands clasp in the classic fig leaf pose that is usually connected to more submissive behaviour.”
