Princess Stephanie of Monaco wore unconventional mini wedding dress

The late Grace Kelly and her husband Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, had three children – the current Prince of Monaco, Albert II, Princess Caroline, and Princess Stephanie.

The youngest, Princess Stephanie, 58, got married in 1995 to her bodyguard Daniel Ducruet, who she already had two children with.

Stephanie’s wedding dress is one of, if not the, most unconventional bridal gown in royal history.

The 58-year-old has always been known to follow her own path and surprised many when she got married in a surprise 1995 wedding to her bodyguard.

She wore a white lace mini-dress with no veil or tiara, which was highly in style for the 1990s but less so for a royal wedding.

Royal fans still do not know who designed it, and the Palace of Monaco has never provided any formal information about it because it was so contrary to convention.

Only one official photograph of the wedding was released on July 3, 1995, that shows Princess Stephanie and Daniel Ducruet on their wedding day on July 1 in Monaco.

The two were married in a private civil ceremony. Princess Stephanie was later pictured talking to an unidentified guest as she left the Monaco city hall.

Stephanie accessorised with a simple pearl necklace and curled her beautiful light brown hair in a wavy fashion.

Unfortunately, Stephanie and Daniel’s marriage did not last as the royal couple divorced only a year later in 1996.

Princess Stephanie is known as the Grimaldi family’s rebellious royal and was once described by her mother Grace Kelly as her “enfant terrible”, which translates to “wild child”.

Her nuptials defied the typical royal wedding in a way that was almost defiant.

The couple already had two children together and did not want to get lots of media attention, so the wedding was not a lavish affair and no reception was held.

She wore a knee-length lace dress, one of the shortest in royal wedding history, which the Palace has never shared any information about to this day.

The second marriage of Princess Stéphanie to Portuguese acrobat Adans Lopez Peres is even less well-known.

Details of the wedding, including the dress, are unclear because no members of the Monaco Royal Family were present on September 12, 2003, in Vandoeuvres, Switzerland.

Stephanie has three children, Louis Ducruet, Pauline Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb. Camille, 24, is not included in the line of succession because her mother never married her father, Jean Raymond Gottlieb.
