Queen Letizia gives nod to Queen Elizabeth at Coronation reception with ‘exquisite’ jewel

Queen Letizia of Spain wore a stunning green wrap dress and Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, looked sophisticated in a fuchsia gown, while Princess Charlene of Monaco was one of the only royals who opted for trousers. Members of all European royal households arrived at Buckingham Palace to attend the glamorous reception the night before King Charles’s Coronation.

Queen Letizia chose a green midi dress from Victoria Beckham and she looked “stunning”, as Twitter user @JeryHiskia pointed out.

The Gathered Midi Dress, with a fitted bodice, puff sleeves and foldover details, retails for £862.

For jewellery, the Spanish monarch donned a pair of diamond and sapphire drop earrings and matching bracelet, and a sparkling brooch in the shape of a bow. Queen Letizia, who was the only royal wearing a brooch, may have wanted to honour Queen Elizabeth on the special occasion as the late monarch was rarely seen without the jewel.

Princess Charlene of Monaco arrived at the reception with Prince Albert and she looked stunning in a baby blue ensemble. Interestingly, she was one of the only royals who opted for a “bold” and “more different” look, sporting a top and trousers co-ord instead of a dress.
