Queen Letizia of Spain was pictured at the National Sports Awards in Madrid earlier today – and she looked vibrant in her tonal pink outfit. Known for her bold style, the royal paired a long-sleeved silk shirt in a bright coral shade with a lighter pink leather skirt. The statement look perfectly complemented her dark features and is a popular outfit amongst other Royal Family members, including Meghan Markle.
While the spring colour palette was a new trend for Letizia, the knee-length leather skirt is a staple in her wardrobe. The royal, who has been married to King Felipe of Spain since 2004, was previously seen wearing a burgundy version of the same skirt.
Complete with the same patent leather finish, seam detailing and deep front split, the pink skirt appears to be an exact replica of the deep-red style Letizia has worn before.
While some on-lookers commented on the “beautiful” outfit, others pointed out that the skirt “looks plastic”.
As a royal fashion staple, the skirt is also owned by Meghan Markle, who was spotted wearing the burgundy skirt earlier this year.

The designer skirt is by Hugo Boss and retails online for £345.99. While the bright pink style also comes in black, the burgundy version has different detailing.
Both styles feature a high waist and a subtle a-line-pencil silhouette to flatter the figure. However, the red version does not feature the front split and has different seam detailing.
Meghan and Letizia were spotted wearing the designer leather garment on separate occasions in the past, though both paired the lamb skin skirt similarly to suit their business-chic style.
The former Duchess of Sussex donned the outfit in 2019 while attending a Roundtable Discussion on Gender Equality with The Queens Commonwealth Trust in Windsor, while Queen Letizia stepped out in the red skirt while visiting Seoul, South Korea on October 24, 2019.
In her latest appearance, the Queen of Spain opted for a similar outfit while swapping the red skirt for pink, and a white blouse for a silk number.
The glossy collar shirt featured ruched detailing on the long-sleeve arms for a casual rolled-up effect.
Letizia wore the shirt slightly open and neatly tucked into the high waist of her figure-skimming leather skirt.
Just like the pink leather number, the blouse was also by Hugo Boss, described as a “regular-fit blouse crafted in stretch silk with a concealed placket and gathering at the sleeves”.

The lightweight blouse retails for $398 (approximately £320) on the BOSS womenswear website.
In true royal style, Letizia completed the outfit with neutral, heeled court shoes to keep the focus on her bold outfit.
Her shoes are yet another wardrobe staple, thought to be the beige Prada glossed Saffiano leather pointy-toe pumps that she wore with a baby blue dress at the Order of Civil Merit ceremony in June 2019.
The staple heels were most recently styled by the Queen on February 23, 2023, while on a state visit to Germany.
When Meghan was pictured wearing the same burgundy version of the skirt, she opted for a more classic up-do compared to Letizia’s undone brunette locks.
Also a fan of the smart court-shoe style, the former Duchess of Sussex paired the skirt with tonal red heels and a deep v-neck wrap blouse.
Like Letizia did today, Meghan styled the long sleeves in rolled-up fashion for a more effortless look – a technique loved by the royals while on business.
Letizia completed the pink ensemble with understated silver drop pendant earrings.
