Queen Rania of Jordan hosted a gala banquet during Iftar, which is the main meal of a fasting day during Ramadan. Iftar is the evening meal and occurs at sunset every day, and the monarch celebrated the occasion with a glamorous dinner at Al Husseiniya Palace, in Amman, Jordan, looking beautiful in a royal blue dress.
Queen Rania met a group of “accomplished Jordanian youth” from across the country, including men and women from youth initiatives, small business owners, volunteers, entrepreneurs and local media figures.
For the banquet, Queen Rania wore a very flattering crepe kaftan-style dress in blue. The gown was the “El Sol” design by the Italian fashion brand Taller Marmo.
The Jordan Queen decided to alter the dress, however, and ditched the original belt which featured a gold moon at the centre and wore a brown design instead.
The royal added a belt with three bronze details at the front which resembled the Rub el Hizb, or the geometric designs in Islamic art made of a combination of squares.

Queen Rania also donned a pair of silver maxi earrings, a blue marble clutch bag and her black suede pumps from Jennifer Chamandi.
According to tradition, women should dress modestly and conservatively during the month of Ramadan, especially in Arab countries.
Fashion experts at Lashkaraa explained that women should also dress for comfort as Ramadan days are “filled with fasting and prayer” so it demands comfortable garments.
Queen Rania did so and opted for a conservative attire, covering her arms and knees, as Ramadan “is a time to emphasise one’s inward life”.
“Modest clothing is the go-to, as with many formal ceremonies and coverage of the neckline and legs down to the knees” is expected.
The Iftar “is a celebration that calls for new clothes” and women often complement their outfits with some pieces of jewellery and accessories.
For footwear, the fashion experts explained that heels while fasting all day may not be “a great combination for balanced walking”.
However, for Iftar, or the main post-fasting meal at night, “when coming together with friends is the perfect time to style yourself decadently with your favourite pair of shoes”.

The monarch wished everyone in Jordan a happy Ramadan on her Twitter account saying: “Ramadan is upon us once more! May the holy month bring health and happiness to all.”
Royal fans took to social media to praise her fabulous style and Instagram user @lescarletwoman commented she looked “gorgeous”.
“Looking fabulous,” said @voguezainab, and another fan and social media user, @max.anar, added that the royal looked “fantastic”.
Instagram user and royal watcher @sassy_twins commented: “She never disappoints! Fabulous as usual!!!” while @tejaswi338 simply said: “Pretty!”
Queen Rania opted for royal blue and according to colour psychology, the shade often worn by royals, is associated with reliability and trustworthiness.
Behavioural colour psychologist Karen Haller explained that royalty often chose the colour to communicate they are “in a position of authority, trustworthy, reliable and can be depended on”.
Wearing blue means Queen Rania has “a sense of duty” and “takes that seriously with committed focus,” the expert added.
The colour blue in clothing also means of loyalty, wisdom, confidence, stability and intelligence.
