Royal fans are convinced Taylor Swift “paid homage” to Princess Kate at last night’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
Taylor Swift proved she’ll never go out of style as she graced the red carpet in a shimmering white corset gown from Schiaparelli Couture.
She completed the outfit with long black opera gloves, which convinced fans on social media, that she had recreated Princess Kate’s monochrome look worn at the BAFTA 2023 awards.
On X, user @denneeze200 commented: “Definitely a homage to Catherine”, whereas @MeghansMole wrote: “Taylor Swift is forever #TeamCatherine.”
Meanwhile, user @StefHRH said: “She’s solid #PrincessCatherineofWales and I’m all for it.”
Social media followers who saw Taylor Swift pick up her 13th Grammy award last night, could not help but make the comparison between the pop idol and Princess Kate.
User, @darksldeoftmoon wrote: “As soon as I saw her, I thought about the Princess of Wales.”
The 2024 Grammys featured more surprise moments as Taylor Swift, 34, made history as the first person to win ‘album of the year’ four times.
After picking up the Grammy award for Best Pop Vocal Album, she said: “Okay this is my 13th Grammy. Which is my lucky number if I’ve ever told you that.”
Simiarly, Princess Kate stole the show and turned heads when she opted for a flower white one shoulder-dress by one of her favourite designers, Alexander McQueen, at the 2023 British Academy Of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards in London.
The extended arm sleeve detail flowed elegantly behind her as she walked the red carpet alongside Prince William, and she paired the dress with long black evening gloves.
The fashion-conscious Princess of Wales’s gown was a re-wear, but the flower applique on the shoulder was removed and replaced with a bow. When Kate debuted the gown in 2019, she wore it with cool-tone accessories.
For the BAFTAs, she accessorised the outfit with dramatic statement floral earrings from Zara, and a black clutch, as Princess Kate is often known for her love of high-street brands, such as Reiss and Whistles.
Prince William, however, kept his look simple and stylish in a classic black tuxedo.
