Royal Mail shares which UK areas are most affected by postal delays this weekend

Royal Mail aims to deliver to all addresses is has mail for, six days a week.

The postal service shared that this weekend (Saturday August 19 – Sunday August 20), deliveries are operating as normal on the whole.

However, this is not always possible in a small number of local offices due to issues such as high levels of staff sickness, absences, resourcing and other local factors.

Severe weather can also affect deliveries. When there is significant snowfall, icy conditions or localised flooding, your street or some of the roads on the way to your address may become too dangerous to access.

Where local offices are affected, Royal Mail has put a plan in place to ensure minimal disruption.

Royal Mail explained: “We will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”

The postal services apologised for any inconvenience caused by postal delays this weekend.
